Keira Knightley wearing hummingbird ring in Seeking a Friend for the End of the World

So a while back Keira Knightley’s stylist contacted me through our Etsy site about creating a few rings ASAP for an upcoming movie. It thrills me that the stylist was shopping handmade. The ring of interest is our hummingbird ring. It is a very cool ring with a hummingbird getting nectar out of a blossom. We are completely thrilled to have our ring chosen for a movie. For some reason I was nervous about asking the name of the film. I was worried I was overstepping my boundary if I asked. Well, a while later the stylist contacted me again and the producer’s mother wanted one too. Of course I whipped out more rings. But still did not ask the name of the flick. I just figured I will just go watch all the new Keira Knightley movies that come out.

Well we were at the theater today and I saw the movie poster for Seeking a Friend for the End of the World with Keira Knightley and Steve Carrell and on it Keira is clearly wearing a ring. Well I started looking pretty hard at the ring and I thought that might be our ring. So I started scouring for images from the movie and I am pretty sure that this is our hummingbird ring on Keira in the new flick. I will follow up as soon I go see the movie in the theaters. Paper Crafted Bugs & Birds

These gorgeous paper creations are created by France-based graphic studio Zim and Zou. Artists Lucie Thomas and Thibault Zimmerman, who make up Zim and Zou, rework the inanimate materials to simulate organic characters in the series titled Cabinet de Curiosités. The duo, who met in art school, hand-cut their work from each intricate feather on their bird sculptures to the detailed patterns in their insect paper art. I have always wanted to create paper sculptures. I have a few ideas I hope to create someday. You can see more of Zim and Zou’s work here.

Today has been a wonderful day. We are having a wonderful snow day in the Pacific Northwest. I popped over to Target this evening and was delighted to see the that our line of Hi Octane Jewelry is featured in Elle Magazine’s February 2012 issue. Elle is featuring our 57 Chevy look car ring. And doesn’t Reese Witherspoon look fabulous too.

I have been gone too long. Where have I been? We moved our household to the Northwest. What a lot of work that has been. Good news lots of new inspiring places here. Here is our new place. Loving it.

And of course being someone who loves to design, I came up with some ideas of ways to modernize the new place. Here is to 2012 being great.
